Starting Your Own Meetup
Why Start Your Own Meetup?
Bitcoin Meetups are the single most important place to meet other Bitcoiners and discuss this new digital frontier. Whether you are veteran who has been mining since 2009 or a new-coiner who bought their first $5 of a major exchange, meetups are a great way to share ideas, insights, and challenges in the Bitcoin ecosystem. Below are some tools you can leverage today:
WORKING WITH LOCAL BITCOINERS
Finding local Bitcoiners can be a challenge, we recommend starting or joining a current
Discord server to connect online.
Some tips we recommend when starting a meetup:
01
Find a local meetup spot
Local coffee shops, restaurants, events halls, business owners with extra space to spare - any local business where curious individuals can congregate. The more local, the better it will be.
02
Have a consistent date
We recommend the last ___ day of the month. This consistent date will ensure all regulars and new-comers know when to expect the meetup.
03
Bring your local wares
T Sell soap? Bring it! Homesteading? Share it! These meetups should be a space to discuss bitcoin but also facilitate the use of bitcoin in the circular economy. Sell your wares, services, or ideas!
04
Make some merch
T If your meetup becomes a hot spot, get some shirts, stickers, cups, hoodies or anything with a logo to be made! Build out the community, and make a place everyone wants to feel empowered in.
